When Mama June was deep into her addiction, she sold everything. This included the title to her daughter, Jessica’s car. Ultimately, Jessica went to go live with her younger sister, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird, and her family. As it was, Pumpkin had already taken in her youngest sister, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo‘ Thompson. So, together, they created a nice little family that worked for them. When June got better and left her ex, Geno Doak, she returned to Georgia and wanted a second chance. An agreement was even reached that she and Jessica would get an apartment together.

Since Mama June is legally blind, she cannot drive. Therefore, she would get Jessica a car and she would drive her mother around. Then, June ditched everyone for a man in Alabama. June wants to get close to her girls this season on Family Crisis as she is having a vow renewal so she is desperate so she called Dr. Ish for help. Though she worked it out with Pumpkin, Alana, and Jessica, fans did not feel she cared enough about the latter. According to a Reddit thread, the OP noted this: “I always get such a weird feeling whenever I see June and Jessica interact… I understand if Jessica isn’t close with her mother, but June always seems to favour Pumpkin and Alana, and value them more over Jessica.”

They also felt that maybe June went toward the kids who brought in the most money. Other Redditors were quick to chime in. “Your last sentence is the answer! They are her money makers…she’ll ride their coattails as long as possible,” one noted. Another added: “June only cares about June, and her man of the month.”

Mama June claimed she was upset that she learned about Jessica being gay on social media. Yet, the girls learned that June and her husband, Justin Stroud privately wed when the receipt was in their mailbox. Fans noted that they felt Jessica to be the sweetest out of June’s four girls. “I think Jessica may be the sweetest. I remember on HCHBB (I watched the first season back when it came out) that Alana said Jessica was her best friend,” a Redditor added. The others fight back but Jessica is much more emotional and June does not know how to handle this.
